What is RSS?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and is way that
we at VetBuzz can let you know of any changes that happen
on the site. You can be notified within minutes of new jobs
or news items. Many web sites, including the BBC, now offer
this service in an effort to provide you with the information
you want without you having to trawl through a large number
of web sites to get to it.
How does it work?
To make use of an RSS feed you need to download
a piece of software known as an RSS reader or aggregator.
This can be a standalone desktop application such as SharpReader or
a plug-in for Outlook such as intraVnews.
There are many RSS readers so try a search on Google for
something suitable.
Once you have your RSS reader downloaded and installed you
need to set it up with the VetBuzz feeds. Copy and paste
the following URLs into your news reader:
| For jobs use: |
http://www.vetbuzz.com/rss/jobs.asp |
| For news use: |
http://www.vetbuzz.com/rss/vetbuzz.xml |
Let us know how you get on.
We'd be interested to hear how you get on using
this new service, send an e-mail and
tell us what RSS reader you're using and how you're getting
on. Let us know if
you find any interesting RSS feeds from other sites.
