| Veterinary Nurse - Long Term Locum, Central Scotland |
| Category: Job Vacancy |
| Submitted: 25 August 2010 |
| Our client, a well established, progressive small animal practice are seeking to recruit a qualified veterinary nurse to join their existing team initially in a locum capacity (3 months - 03/09 - 26/11) potentially leading to a more permanent position.
The practice operates out of two branches and looks after its own OOH Mon-Thurs with the weekend (Fri, Sat & Sun) on-call being contracted out. With this in mind, the successful candidate will work a standard 8hr day (either 8-4:30) or 10:30-7) with 1 night per week on call and the occasional Saturday (1 in 8).
The nurse will be on rota to work different shifts including orthopaedic, wards, prep room, specialist and theatre so you will ideally be a competent nurse with general nursing duties, and whilst specialist nursing experience is not critical to the role (full support will be provided), exposure to nursing in a surgical environment is needed and proven ability and confidence in assisting with small animal operations (both routine and emergency) is advantageous.
On offer is a very competitive hourly rate of pay plus the chance to develop your nursing skills in a friendly, challenging and supportive working environment. |
